Disc types
Disc golf midranges are speed 4 and 5 discs built for accuracy in the 200 to 300 foot range. They hold a line better than a driver and carry further than a putter. Most rounds are won and lost with these.
A midrange is what you throw when you need the disc to go exactly where you aimed. Approach shots, second shots on long holes, and any line through a gap. They fly the same way at a wide range of arm speeds, which makes them predictable in a way faster discs are not. A straight midrange and an overstable one covers most of what a round asks for.
Good for anyone past their first few rounds. New players get the most out of a straight, neutral midrange. Players with more experience usually carry two or three with different stability so they can shape shots in both directions.
