The Innova Destroyer is a very fast, overstable distance driver with a long, predictable flight. Innova describes it as much like a faster Wraith, but with a little more high and low speed stability, and that combination of speed, glide, and a strong finishing fade is what made it the best-selling overstable distance driver in the sport. The Destroyer handles headwinds and off-axis torque without turning over, which makes it a favorite for sidearm throwers and players with a lot of power. Thrown with enough speed it flies straight for a long stretch before fading hard back to the ground, and it holds up well on force-over flex lines and penetrating hyzers. This is a disc for advanced players and anyone with developed arm speed. Innova does not recommend it for beginners, since players still building power will see it fade early rather than carry.

Common questions

Is the Innova Destroyer good for beginners?
Innova does not recommend it for beginning players. It needs real arm speed to reach its full flight, and without that power it will fade left early (for a right-handed backhand throw) instead of carrying.
What is the difference between the Destroyer and the Wraith?
The Wraith is one speed slower with a similar flight shape but slightly less stability, so it is easier to throw for most players. The Destroyer is faster and more overstable, and it will fly farther for players who can bring it up to speed.
What is the difference between Star and Champion Destroyer?
Champion is firmer and typically flies a little more overstable, holding that stability for years. Star is softer and grippier with a slightly less overstable flight, and it seasons more over time.
